Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using eidosSpeech ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

eidosSpeech provides free text-to-speech conversion using Microsoft Edge TTS neural voices. The Service is offered via:

• A web interface at eidosspeech.xyz
• A REST API accessible with a registered API key

The Service is provided "as is" with no uptime guarantees. Rate limits and feature availability may change.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use eidosSpeech to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, harassing, or fraudulent
• Impersonate individuals for deceptive purposes
• Create deepfake audio for misinformation or fraud
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Resell or redistribute the Service as your own
• Scrape or harvest data in violation of these terms
• Use the Service in a way that exceeds your tier's usage limits

4. Registration and Account

When registering, you agree to provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key. Report compromised keys immediately by regenerating from your dashboard.

Maximum 3 registrations per IP address per day. Accounts with suspicious activity may be suspended.

5. API Usage

• Free tier: 30 requests/day, 2,000 characters/request (registered)
• Anonymous: 5 requests/day, 500 characters/request (web UI only)
• Limits reset at 00:00 UTC daily
• Concurrent requests rejected — one request at a time per identity
• Caching: Identical requests may return cached audio without consuming quota

6. Email Communications

By registering, you consent to receive transactional emails including:

• Email verification messages
• Password reset notifications
• API key welcome emails
• Occasional service updates

You will not receive marketing or promotional emails without separate explicit consent.

7. Data and Privacy

We collect and store: email address, password hash (bcrypt), IP address (rate limiting), and TTS request metadata (character counts, voice preferences).

Audio content you submit is used only for TTS generation and cached briefly for performance. We do not train AI models on your text or sell your data.

Accounts inactive for extended periods or unverified accounts may be automatically deleted.

8. Service Availability

eidosSpeech is offered free of charge as part of the eidosStack ecosystem. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

9. Intellectual Property

The TTS output you generate belongs to you. The eidosSpeech platform code, design, and brand are owned by eidosStack. Microsoft Edge TTS voices are subject to Microsoft's terms of use.

10. Limitation of Liability

eidosSpeech and eidosStack are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Users are solely responsible for compliance with applicable laws when using generated audio.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced on eidosspeech.xyz.
